Hello everyone and welcome to another week of sports fodder that gets it poppin'— Fat Joe style. We went with 23 thoughts this week in honor of the amount of penalty minutes Vancouver Canucks' Andrew Alberts has in the first two games of these playoffs. 7. TSN had their annual three-hour NHL playoff preview show this week. By the end of it, I had learned that Pittsburgh, Washington, Chicago, and Detroit all had a real good shot to win the cup, Roberto Luongo was under “immense pressure”, and Alex Ovechkin will be “highly motivated”. What a colossal waste of three hours of my life.
8. My favourite moment of the playoffs so far: Carcillo scoring in OT to beat the Devils in game three. This seems like the one thing that nobody wanted to happen, but did. If anyone else had scored, it would've just been another OT goal. But the fact that he scored, made it a story. He has to be the number one heel in the NHL.
9. Quote of the week: “If you don’t wanna be here, get the hell out”—Pat Quinn, making reference to any player who does not want to be a part of the last place Edmonton Oilers.
10. Perhaps Quinn should add: “If you wanna win, get the hell out.”
11. I’ve been saving this point since December, so I am ridiculously stoked to unveil it after four months of waiting. Check out the lyrics to the Jackson 5 mega hit, “I want you back”. 13. I can go on pretty much for each line of this song. So as weak and feeble as this may sound, I am hereby declaring Jackson 5’s “I want you back” the battle cry for the Detroit Red Wings these playoffs. That should provide a much needed intimidation factor for us.
14. Going back to Tiger Woods, because you know we can’t go five points without bringing him up again, did anyone see what he did last Sunday? He shot a final round of 69 in front of a live television audience.
15. And believe it or not, I’m actually talking about golf.

17.Vancouver Canucks d-man Andrew Alberts has to be the worst trade deadline pickup ever. HE HAS TO BE. This guy flat out sucks. Just brutal. I mean, bad. Real bad. Horrible. I mean, he might as well be playing for the Kings. This guy really does suck. Even Patrice Bergeron could probably dangle this guy. Alberts flat out blows. Please tell me when I've made my point. He sucks. Bad. Let's move on.
18. Last night's Mets/Cardinals game ended in the 20th inning. The game went for an excruciatingly long 6 hours and 53 minutes. At what point do you: A) Go home if you're a fan? and B) Go home if you're a player? Can you imagine standing in right field for 6+ hours? At least five guys must have juiced up during that time.

Final thought: For this coveted final spot, I am opting to go with the greatest upset in sports history (and no I'm not talking about the NHL Coyotes' 2-1 series lead over the Wings), This upset took place in the Coast Hockey League based out of Richmond, BC. First round playoff series between the Pioneers (number 1 team in the league with a 20-4 record) vs. the lowly Sharpshooters (last place team with a 6-17-1 record).
21. The Pioneers had scored 104 more goals than the Sharpshooters this year, and outscored them 20-3 in three meetings this season. Needless to say, I loaded up on Pioneer players in my Coast Hockey League playoff pool. And in a shocking turn of events, the Pioneers were unceremoniously swept out of round one by the bottom feeding Sharpshooters two games to none. To make matters even more unbelievable, before this game the Sharpshooters had won just ONE playoff game since the 05/06 season, where they beat a team called the "Zamboners".
22. And yes, I know what you're thinking: Zamboners is an unreal name for a hockey team.
