The Victoria Highlanders have been eliminated from PDL playoff contention following a tough 1-0 loss at City Centre Stadium against the Seattle Wolves on Sunday afternoon.
The loss came on the heels of a 3-3 tie in the first game of a home-and-home in Seattle on Friday night; a game in which Victoria lead 2-0 going into half-time, only to allow the Wolves to get back into the game and eventually earn a tie.
Coach Colin Miller was quite disappointed with the weekend's results but still recognized that there were good things to take away from the two games, such as substitute Lennart Dobravsky scoring a goal in Friday's game and the passion and drive the players displayed in both contests.
Victoria fans once again showed their love for the Highlanders as over 1,600 people attended Sunday's match and although the team won't see the playoffs, Highlanders brass knows their support is a major factor in future success.
Up next for the team will be an exhibition contest against Victoria United in the first annual Victoria Charity Shield. Tickets for the game are $10 and proceeds support the MS Kick for the Cure. You can get your tickets by calling 250-590-8432
