Seals Display Resilience in Comeback Victory Against Calgary

The Victoria Seals proved that they shouldn't be counted out, even when down, following a four run comeback victory in Calgary Monday night.

The Vipers, who took two of three in a weekend series in Victoria, looked to be on their way to a victory in the first game of the two teams' second straight series, after getting up 6-2 by the fourth inning.

Victoria began to chip away at the Vipers lead by the fifth however, with a two run double from Josh Arhart, followed by a Bret LeVier RBI double in the sixth. Josh Arhart continued his clutch play in the seventh, as he tied the game with an RBI single, which scored Carlos Duncan.

With the momentum of the game strongly on their side, the Seals capped the comeback off in the top of the ninth inning with an RBI double from Jamar Hill and a sacrifice fly from Chris Van Rossum.

Victoria reliever Ethan Katz collected his first win of the season with two innings of scoreless work, while Calgary's Dallas Mahan falls to 0-2 with the loss.

Although Victoria still trails Calgary by six games in the GBL's North Division, Monday's win will go a long way in making sure that the Seals aren't a pushover and are capable of putting runs together in order to win games.

The fifth consecutive game between the Seals and Vipers is set for Tuesday evening, before the teams will play the final game of their second consecutive three game series Wednesday.
