Seals Extend Winning Streak to 3 Following Wins Over OC

The Victoria Seals are in the midst of the franchise's first multi-game winning streak this week as they look to sweep the defending GBL champions, Orange County Flyers Thursday night.

Victoria's streak began with 9-6 victory against Long Beach on Sunday, which gave the team their first victory at Royal Athletic Park. Victoria's Kyle Nichols hit a two-run homer while Josh Arhart hit a three run bomb to lead the Seals offensively. Seals pitcher Chris Bodishbaugh picked up his first win of the season for Victoria.

The Seals then came out strong in their series opener against Orange County Tuesday, taking the game 5-3. Victoria was lead by right fielder Sergio Pedroza who went 3 for 3 with 4 RBI in the victory. Seals pitcher Austin Bibens-Dirkx went 5.1 innings along with 9 strikeouts to pick up the win.

In the second game of the OC series last night, Victoria went with pitcher Isaac Hess which turned out to be the right call, as Hess allowed only 3 hits and no runs over 6.2 innings of work. Seal third baseman Brian Rios went 5 for 5 with an RBI single to lead Victoria in an eventual 3-1 win.

Nearly 2,000 fans watched Victoria take their third straight win in the sweltering heat last night, as game attendance should only continue to grow if the Seals continue to play good baseball.

Victoria will wrap up their home stand with their final game of a three game series with Orange County Thursday, before moving on to play a weekend series in Chico.
