Victoria Sports Online

First off, we would like to welcome you to the unveiling of Victoria’s new local sports website! This is a site for sports fans by sports fans. If you want it, we probably have it (unless it’s lawn bowling, but if you’re interested in that you probably don’t know how to work the internet). We know some things take a little while to get used to. Hey, in 1889 the Eiffel Tower was unveiled to mixed reviews. Most called it an eyesore, some called it a waste of money. A huge metal tower may not translate to a Victoria sports website but people began to like that monument and now it’s the most visited attraction in the world. All I’m saying is people come around and that Google should keep their head up. I guess the flipside of that argument would be that piece of art in front of the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre, which may in fact be getting uglier and more hated as time goes on.

But I digress; this site is not about statues or ugly art it is strictly about sports. On this site you will find everything from stories and scores on local athletics to blogs from some of Victoria’s highest profile athletes. The forums are a chance for Victoria sports fans to sound off on any local issues, like why Victoria doesn’t have a Western Hockey League franchise and why Steve Nash wasn’t named to the NBA all star team this year (the game is in Phoenix for god’s sake!). This site is as much yours as it is ours, so take a look around, have a listen to our weekly radio show and write about a topic that concerns you on the forums.
